Custom user properties

Custom user properties are custom fields that allow you to collect information about your users, through Cohort campaigns. These user properties can enrich your database and customize campaign targeting (text, number, boolean, date…). The values of these fields can also be sent and/or retrieved from your database. Once a new custom user property is created, it becomes available on every user record in Cohort. You can add them in challenge campaigns with Cohort form action for example.

Create a custom user property

  1. Go to the gear wheel in the top right corner in the Admin interface

  2. Select Custom properties at the bottom

  3. Click Create custom property

  4. In Name, write the name of the user property

  5. In type, choose the type of answer you want

    1. Click text: if you want the answer to be a sequence of characters

    2. Click number: if you want the answer to be a number

    3. Click Boolean: if you want the answer to be true or false

    4. Click Date: if you want the answer to be a calendar date

  6. Click create

Edit a custom user property

Once you've created a user property, you can edit it to modify the name and/or the reference ID.

  1. Go to the gear wheel in the top right corner in the Admin interface

  2. Select Custom properties at the bottom

  3. Find the user property you want to edit and click on it

  4. Modify the field you want: Only Name and Reference ID can be modified

  5. Click Save

⚠️The type of a user property can not be modified after his creation. if you want to modify the type, please delete the user property that you want to modify and create a new one.

Manage custom user properties

This enables you to display in the overview different user properties, but also to export them as CSV.

  1. Go to the Users section in the Admin interface

  2. Click Manage user properties in the top right corner

  3. In choose properties to display, select the property you want to display on your user overview

💡 You can choose several properties at the same time

  1. Click Save

  2. You can see those users properties on the overview by sliding to the right
